Will I have side effects after a flu shot?

Common side effects of a flu shot are:

Soreness or aching in the arm where the shot was given
Redness, swelling, or pain at the injection site
Headache, nausea, or fatigue
Coughing and sneezing
Sore throat (with nasal flu vaccine)

These symptoms usually improve or resolve within a few days. Although it is not common, some people may also experience a low-grade fever (below 101 degrees).
